When sports were first introduced in the Greek and Roman times with the Olympics these athletes were idolized. In A Variety of Religious Experience it talks about how sports were a diversion from everyday life and offered moral benefits. The article also talks about how in terms of religion fans worship those in the Hall of Fame like Gods. Now a days there are actual schools that are based on religion. Shiloh Christian High School was talked about in Football High. The school is owned by the priest of the biggest church in the state and also pays to support the football team. Religion has evolved in the sports world from athletes being praised like Gods to schools being based on different types of religion.

In terms of social class affecting the sports world, in A Variety of Religious Experience it explains that  the upper class would play a lot of solo and individual sports in order to be the center of attention. Now a days the private schools that are richer than public schools have better programs as seen in Football High. This is because the upper class that can afford to send their kids to private schools want the best for their children. Social class has been able to evolve into this changing and competitive world of sports to make sure their children are in the best programs money can buy.

    Private schools almost have an unfair advantage over public schools because of the funds they receive for their football programs. Schools with more money can afford to have more resources that will make their team better. They can afford resources like more coaches, athletic trainers, strength and agility coaches. If public schools could afford some of these resources that aren't mandatory, but are nice to have, maybe Tyler Davenport wouldn't have died. Maybe he would have recovered and got to live out his life like Will James is.

Between the reading Boys Will Be Boys and the film Mansome there were several things they had in common. One connection I noticed between the two were in Boys Will Be Boys it said, "As women become more self confident, men are losing their nerve" and in Mansome it explained that society told men to "stop acting like men" resulting in an identity crisis. I think the two are trying to explain that the way man have acted and thought about their appearance before isn't what is now socially acceptable. Men used to be so confident and not have to worry about their appearance but now they have to work hard to look like they didn't try hard to look the way they do. Another connection between the two were in Mansome it explained that mens health magazines are making men more vain and in Boys Will Be Boys it says that mens goals may not have changed that much but the way to achieve them has. Blog Post 11

I researched the movie Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising and expected to find around 25 product placements throughout the movie. I thought there would be a lot because the movie was targeted at teens and young adults so it would have a lot of popular products being used. I found 6 brands that were used repeatedly during the movie; U-Haul, Nike, Apple, Instagram, Vans, and Converse. I think the use of Apple was a good idea on the film makers part because Apple is such a recognized and popular product. Different types of Apple products were used in the movie like MacBooks and iPhones. This product placement made sense to the storyline like This Must Be the Place describes. During the movie the actors are on their phone making calls or using a computer to look things up so having those products be Apple made perfect sense and didn't have the audience question why they were using it.
